Lantern Games Terms of Service

Effective: 5 September 2026

These are the terms for using Lantern Games (lg.morelike.ai). By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. They're short on purpose.

What Lantern Games is

Lantern Games is a text adventure you play through an AI assistant you connect (Claude, ChatGPT, or any compatible client). Lantern Games keeps the game world — the rooms, the things in them, what has happened — and your assistant narrates it and carries out your commands. It's currently free, and it's an independent project run by a small team — if that ever changes (paid tiers, for instance), existing users get clear notice first.

Your account

Be at least 13. Give a real email address you control — it's how you sign in and how deletion is authorized. Keep your sign-in codes and access tokens to yourself: anything done with your credentials counts as you. One account per person is the intent.

Your saved games are yours

Your saved games belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them for one purpose: running Lantern Games for you. We don't sell them, don't use them for advertising, and don't train AI models on them. Delete your account and that permission ends with it (the Privacy Policy explains the timing).

Your AI assistant acts for you, and writes what you read

When you approve an assistant's access to Lantern Games, what it then does in your games is on your instruction — including anything it does with that data outside Lantern Games, which is governed by the assistant's own terms. Every word of narration you read is written by your assistant, from the state of the world Lantern Games hands it; Lantern Games supplies the world and the story's own text, not the assistant's prose. Approve access only for assistants you trust, and revoke access (in the assistant's settings, and on your account page for tokens) when you stop using one.

Fair use

Don't do these: break into or probe the service; use someone else's account or data; hammer the service past its published rate limits or work around them; resell access; or use Lantern Games for anything illegal. We can suspend or close accounts that do.

The stories

The first story, Zork I, is built from source code that Infocom's successors released under the MIT licence in November 2025; the text of the world is theirs, credited within the game. "Zork" is a trademark of its owner, and Lantern Games is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by that owner. Stories are provided under their own licences and may carry gaps or differences from the originals. Treat a game as a game: puzzles can be unfair, characters can be unkind, and death is part of the genre.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time, on your account page, effective immediately. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and — because Lantern Games is an independent project — we reserve the right to change or discontinue the service; if we ever discontinue it, we'll give you reasonable notice. Saved games are small and live only here; if a game matters to you, keep your own notes.

No warranty, limited liability

Lantern Games is provided as is. We work to keep it accurate, fast, and available, but we don't guarantee any of those — a saved game can be lost, a story can have a bug — and to the maximum extent the law allows we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of a free service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.

Changes and law

If these terms change materially, notice goes up on the site before the change takes effect; continuing to use Lantern Games after that means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
